Employers FAQs

How long does it take to complete the Training Contract?

On average an apprentice/trainee and employer induction takes an hour. An Industry Training Consultant will provide all parties with all the relevant information, and take time to answer all questions.

What information do I need to complete the Training Contract?

For the employer the induction is aided by having on hand all of the business and employment details. This would include the employer’s ABN, Legal and Trading names, relevant award applying to the workplace and other general business details.

How long does it take to receive a Training Contract Registration Number?

Providing we have all the paperwork necessary, you should receive a registration number from The The Department of Education, Training and the Arts (DETA) within 4 weeks after you have signed the Training Contract. There are several reason why you may not receive a registration number within this time frame and you should always contact your New Apprenticeship Centre first to determine why.

How long will it take for our chosen SRTO or RTO to contact us?

Busy at Work will inform the SRTO or RTO that they have been chosen by the parties to deliver training under the Training Contract. The SRTO or RTO should be in contact with the parties during the probation period in order to develop a Training Plan.

When will I be notified as to what incentives I am eligible for?

A Busy at Work Customer Service Officer will send you a letter within three months advising if you are not eligible for any incentives. If you are eligible for incentives you will receive a letter and claim form after the waiting period.
